Ultra Training Australia Trainers
The Trainers Story
Brendan Davies and Shona Stephenson met each other at Deep Space Mountain Marathon in November 2009. Shona was first female over all (in her first ever marathon) and Brendan was the second male and qualified for the Australian Mountain Running World Championship Team. Both Brendan and Shona saw something unique in each other.
Brendan Davies and Shona Stephenson are both hard working, committed, mentally strong athletes who love to race and are passionate about trail running. After meeting again 6 weeks later at the Megalong Mega 2010 in which both were the unofficial winners of the tough Blue Mountains Fat Ass event they became friends.
The trail running mates noticed that they have the same racing and training philosophy. They are devoted trail runners and committed athletes. They believe that the more they raced and the smarter they trained the better they both can become.
In 2011 Both Brendan Davies and Shona Stephenson won the GNW 100km with record setting times and decided to start to work together mentoring each other with the different skills they share. At the beginning of 2012 they became sponsored athletes at Barefoot Inc and they both grew in confidence and ability throughout the year.
Brendan and Shona won the Great Ocean Walk (GOW 100s) again setting new course records and they both became sponsored athletes at Hammer Endurance Fuels. The pair were starting to get noticed on the world ultra running stage.
After Brendan’s amazing GNW 100 mIle race win and his consistent high performance setting records along the way in 2012 and Shona’s stellar year of 9 trail running wins in the year they cemented a place on the Inov8 International Trail Running Team. They will be heading to Europe in 2013 to race in June and August against the world’s best athletes.
Their friendship, dedication, work ethic, loyalty and team work has always paid off for the trail buddies and now after 3 years of trail running friendship they start their latest venture together “Ultra Training Australia”.
Brendan and Shona are both fully qualified coaches and they are both fully insured. They have high personal standards that show through in their own achievements but also their clients achievements. Their strengths are believing in each other and their clients. They train, race, coach and lead by example. They are strong motivators of their clients and their energy is infectious.
They believe in building a strong team culture at “Ultra Training Australia”. Like any good football team (go the Swans) the right attitude, training, nutrition, skill, encouragement and professional advice will always deliver great results. Come and join their team.
